Food culture is the most vibrant expression of culture. When you go to a restaurant and order a dish, they serve it to you and you eat it. But what are you actually eating? Where do the ingredients come from? How can we tell a story through them? In this workshop, we work with ingredients with personality, history and geography. We will learn to look at these materials in a whole different way and to design with them. We will transform them to create an edible landscape, which we will then savour at the end of the workshop.
In the studio, we work for very different companies, such as IKEA, LLADRÓ, MARSET and ZAOZUO, and our task as designers is to satisfy each client’s specific needs. We normally work by commission after a briefing. In our talk, we will take a journey through some of our different projects that will illustrate our working method.
If you can imagine your face if you saw a copy of your design in a shop window, you probably cannot even imagine your disbelief upon discovering that you could not do anything to prevent it… and all in order to save 75 euros!!! If you come to this masterclass, you will learn how well-planned prevention with a simple registration can save you a lot of bother.

Citizens’ behaviours in urban settings (eating, sleeping, moving around) end up finding a physical form in space. The ability to understand how this fit between flesh and stone occurs is possible due to capturing, analysing and representing urban Big Data, which opens up new design scenarios for city planning.
