Pablo Rubio

Born in Madrid in 1974, Pablo left engineering studies at the university to pursue his passion for Design. After finishing his studies at the Istituto Europeo di Design he joined one of the most prestigious design studios in Spain. In 2002, he founded Erretres, and since then has been involved in the development of many branding and design projects from clients across Spain, UK, Japan, USA, LatinAmerica or China.

Throughout his professional career, Pablo has developed multiple design projects for different companies like Canal+, El País, Museo del Prado, EcoAlf or Camper. He has been creative director of the prestigious magazine Matador during 10 years. Obsessed with the global quality of the product, attention to detail and production processes, he sees design as an extremely powerful tool that connects creators and brands with their audiences. He has a long lasting relationship with different academic institutions like Universidad Europea, IE Business School or IED Madrid.

His work has been recognized with multiple Awards (including London’s D&AD Awards and 15 Laus Awards) and his projects are featured in many design publications. He frequently participates in design forums, conferences, workshops and on judging panels for design competitions. He is also member of DiMad and ADG-FAD design associations.

In 2018, Pablo Rubio will launch Erretres Open Lab coinciding with the opening of Erretres’ studio in New York City.
