The Spanish word for craftsmanship, “artesanía”, comes from the Latin words artis-manus: “art with hands”. It is only with the human touch that one can create unique objects with a distinguishing design, value and exclusivity. Both SACo and the car manufacturer Mazda -with its Kodo design- share these values which are the foundations for their exhibition that takes a deep look into traditions to study modern craftsmanship and its future.
The Artis-Manus exhibition shows us the tradition, value and future of modern craftsmanship through a selection of pieces made by different skilled craftsmen/women. Sierra + De La Higuera will be in charge of the staging, playing with the raw materials, lights and shadows, as well as the concepts of traditional Japanese design. Besides the exhibition, there will be a series of workshops, conferences and debates to show the work of the different craftsmen/women and Mazda’s design process.
On the occasion of the exhibition 10 activities will be carried out at the Instate Fundación, check the all information here.
