This exhibition looks into the history of design, mostly European, created and produced between 1900 and 1939 and focuses on some of the major topics that concerned designers and society in those times: the search for a new aesthetic based on functionalism, rationalism and objectivity; serial production; the design of a national identity; hygiene and health; or design by and for a new woman. The presence of Bauhaus, that has celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019, summarises and highlights the debates of this first third of the 20th century.
