Óscar Miguel Ares will be the protagonist of the next meeting with architects organized in the Finsa21 space in collaboration with Tectónica in the framework of Madrid Design Festival 2020. Within the 'Contexts' cycle, Ares will give the presentation entitled Architecture from the landscape.
A few years ago Aldo Van Eyck cited that "(...) architecture should not do more, or in any case less, than help the man to return home." And this loan is probably one of the expressions that could best define the intentions in the architecture developed by Óscar Miguel Ares's study.
In a society where noise, the slogan, the word high (call it formalism) predominates, it is time to rethink our relationship with the world, reflect on how we want it to touch us. Light as origin, proportion as a measure, matter as a vehicle of memories at the service of a doing that has its epicenter in a man too seduced by the magnetism of the thoughtless image.
The works of which Oscar Miguel Ares will speak in the talk stand as small claims that want to return the architecture to the like. It will present a whole collection of works immersed in rural areas or small cities - far from the important decision centers and for the most part having as a horizon the plateau - in which observation, landscape and context are the categories on that anchor and develop.
At the end of the meeting, we will continue the talk with a wine or beer and some snacks.
