Curro Claret

He studied Industrial Design at the ELISAVA Higher Design School and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He has worked as a freelance designer since the end of the 90s, designing furniture, lamps, objects, products, interiors, happenings and services, both for companies (like Camper, Metalarte, BD Barcelona and Zicla) and for foundations and associations (like Arrels Fundació, Fundació Tot Raval and Fundación San Martín de Porres) with the aim of exploring different relationships between people (especially those in the most vulnerable situations) and their surroundings. In these areas, work is often related to open processes, where ‘users’ can play an active role, sometimes leading to self-construction, supporting empowerment and emancipation, and stimulating different relationships between groups that are not connected. These activities are also combined with teaching, which presents and investigates these matters. His work has received multiple distinctions and awards, has been exhibited and published in different national and international media and can be found both in private collections and museums.
